Kite poem
This week we have been making kites in groups. My group used string, tape, flax sticks and plastic bags. Our kite was very slow so we had to ran fast but it flew in the end. It was cool to watch because the kite was swirling around as we ran.
After we had flown our kites we wrote a poem about them.

Sentences
Sentences
We have been learning how to write simple sentences correctly. A sentence is words that make sense with a capital letter and full stop. A simple sentence needs a verb and a subject. We wrote silly sentences and chose one to illustrate.
The puffin skipped in the fridge.
The fat cicada growled at the huge hot-air balloon.
The long shark crawled up and on a playground.
The super cricket pounced up a tree and fall down.
The elephant flipped in a swimming pool and farted.

Holiday Recount
Here is my recount from the holidays...

Lighthouse
Sand Dunes. By Annelise.
Holiday Recount
“Yass!” we are going to the lighthouse in Cape Reinga. 3 hours later I could see the other side of NZ and I could see the Sand Dunes. They were so big. They were bigger than I thought. I could not believe my eyes. 30 kilometres later and we were finally there. The wind was howling like a wolf and as powerful as a Silverback. I was so excited. As we were walking down the path I was starting to see the top of the lighthouse. “Oh no,” I whispered to myself, “I almost stood on a cricket.” “Photo time,” mum said. We stood in front of the sign that had 7 countries on it and what direction you go to get there. Mum took a nice photo. After the photos I got to stand up on a little hill. It was sooo scary because the water was smashing onto the rocks. You could see the water meeting up from the two sides of NZ. I got down as quick as I could but it was cool to see.
Than we were off. 5 minutes later we arrived at the HUGE Sand Dunes. We were going to slide down but we just had two boards and only one worked. There was a truck full of boards so we got two for $10 each. We were there until 6 o'clock. I had an awesome day.

Easter Bunny Art
For art we made Easter Bunnies. At first they looked like boring plain old printed of bunnies but when we were told what to do then it soon became better. We got our topic books out and practised patterns. Then we put our patterns on to the bunny in sharpies. After that we marbled a background.
We stuck our bunny in pieces onto the background.

Triathlon
Triathlon
“Line up!’’ shouted Mrs Craig. We all lined up in age groups. It was a pattern with girl, boy, girl, boy. I had to do skipping because I didn’t bring my togs to swim.
“Go go go!” I grabbed my helmet off the seat and ran over to my bike. I sprinted with the bike to the gate and hopped on. I rode as fast as I could to Mr Lawrence's driveway. I zoomed around the green lush wet field. “Sheech!” The stand has gone down so I hopped off and flicked it back up.
I was finally there but I remembered that we also had to do running. I walked over to take off my helmet then I ran like the wind I run past Marie. Soon I was around the back I was halfway up the hill when my shoe was beginning to come off but I made it to the finish line.

"Woooooooo Hooo It's P.E," I shouted. Matua Bodean was teaching us today. First 5 hula hoops were on the ground on the field. We teamed up in teams of 4. We had to send the hula hoop around the circle with our hands linked. It was fun.
